The Best Top Coat Ever

I hate when I smudge my polish. Like most people, I can be very impatient waiting for my polish to dry. My favorite remedy: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.   It's my favorite quick dry top coat.  It dries super fast and glossy. Quite frankly, it's the best top coat ever!!! In my opinion. You can polish your nails, go to bed and wake up in the morning with no sheet marks.  It dries that fast.  It is formaldehyde and DBP free and is not tested on animals. It does have one flaw, though, if you are a person who is concerned about questionable cosmetic ingredients. I am one of those people but I feel the ingredient concern is low with this product. Seche Vite contains toluene as it's solvent. It evaporates very quickly which is why Seche Vite dries so fast. Some chemicals including DBP (dibutyl phthalate), toluene and TPHP (triphenyl Phosphate) used in some nail polish brands  can cause birth defects and are hormone disruptors. Toluene is also used in paints, glues, pa

How to stop blush from fading

Blush can sometimes fade away from your cheeks especially in the summer heat even when you have applied a face primer before you applied your blush. There some things you can do to minimize the fading. Stop your Blush from Fading Double up your blush to give it more staying power. Cream Blush Blend a cream blush onto your cheeks with your fingers or a makeup sponge. Let it set for 5 minutes. Powder Apply a light dusting of translucent powder with a powder brush to cheeks and the rest of your face. Powder Blush Then, apply a powder blush with a blush brush right on top of the cream blush.  Choose two similar colors or try 2 different colors for a dimensional look.  Try a pink cream blush topped with a shimmery peach powder blush.  It creates a beautiful glow.           Have a Beautiful Day!  xo Jill Licensed Cosmetologist,  Esthetician,  Makeup Artist PS: Thanks for using my amazon 💋 As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no cost to you. Peppermint Coconut Sugar Scrub Recipe

One of the most beneficial treatments to make your skin beautiful and glowing in a hurry is exfoliation. Exfoliation scrubs off old dead skin cells that look dull and gray, helps unclog pores, stimulates circulation and promotes collagen production. One of my favorite body scrubs is a peppermint coconut sugar scrub. You can easily make this scrub at home using 3 ingredients you can get right in your grocery store. Coconut Oil  moisturizes the skin and provides antioxidants to help skin look younger and healthier. It comes in a jar and is a solid that melts to a liquid at warmer temperatures. Sugar provides the grit to slough away dead skin. Peppermint is uplifting and produces a cooling effect. It is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and decongestant. Here is my Peppermint Coconut Sugar Scrub Recipe     1/2 cup granulated white sugar     1/2 cup coconut oil     10 drops peppermint essential oil or  1/4 teaspoon     peppermint extract

Hide Wrinkles with Makeup

Q. How can I hide my lines and wrinkles with makeup?   A. Start with good skin care then apply your makeup:  Serum and Moisturizer Treat your skin with an anti aging serum followed by a good moisturizer to hydrate the skin. The skin will look better and the moisture will help smooth and plump up lines and wrinkles. Primer Use a face primer before applying a thin layer of foundation. Primers usually contain a silicone type ingredient that will float on top of lines, kind of filling them in, making them less noticeable. Foundation  Apply foundation using a foundation brush or a sponge. Apply the thinnest layer possible that still gives you the coverage you need.  Concealer Apply concealer with a thin brush on top of the foundation only where needed.  Use a concealer color a little lighter than your foundation. Fill in the lines using the thin brush.  Then, lightly pat with your finger to blend. Using too much makeup will settle in the lines and wrinkles making them

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes: How to Apply

I have been using Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System. I really love it. It does much more than a regular mascara and it kind of does resemble false lashes. I read a lot of reviews about it. People seem to love it or hate it. I can see why people would hate it. It isn't a mascara you can quickly apply and go. It takes some time to work with.  I like it because it really does makes my lashes look longer. I have found it is best to do one eye at a time. Do the top lashes only. The mascara is very sticky and takes some time to dry. When you apply it to the top and bottom lashes, they stick together easily. It's quite annoying. Use a regular mascara on the bottom. Start by curling your lashes. This application process works with any brand 2 part lash fiber system including Cherry Blooms. The Lash Fiber Application Process Step 1:   Apply a coat of Activating Mascara Base and Top Coat to the top lashes. Apply a nice even coat. Be fairly generous w

Food that is Sunscreen

Did you know that some foods can actually increase your skin's resistance to the UV rays of the sun!  Brightly colored fruits and veggies contain high levels of antioxidant pigments such as lycopene, carotenoids and flavenoids.  These pigments actually help to protect the plants, fruits and veggies from UV rays.  We eat them, we get protective anti-oxidant sun protection.  Food sunscreens!     The more you eat, the more protection you get!  They don't replace topical sunscreens, however. They add extra protection, though. Eat lots of these Food Sunscreens   Here are a few! Blueberries Tomatoes (cooked) Oranges and Citrus Fruits Apricots Carrots Sweet Potatoes Red, Orange and Yellow Peppers Watermelon Beets Leafy Greens such as Broccoli, Kale and Spinach  Olive Oil Green and Black Tea Dark Chocolate (my favorite anti-oxidant food!) Flax Salmon They are all good healthy foods to begin with and have the extra sunscreen bonus! Have a Sun Safe Day
