Best Waterproof Mascara: Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara Review

It's Jamaica Time! It's a perfect island honeymoon get away. Tropical, beautiful, romantic and full of warm, friendly people.

I always take my favorite waterproof mascara, Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara, with me when I go on my Jamaica vacations. I'll tell you it's so great in my review!

Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara Review

I needed a really good waterproof mascara for my Jamaica vacation, so I ordered a travel size Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara from Sephora to take with me.

I was a little hesitant after reading the reviews. A lot of people don't like it. Many say it's hard to remove, it's sticky and smudges. I gave it a go anyway.

I like the packaging. It has what looks like droplets of water on it. Cute!

Is it waterproof?
Honestly, I don't know why this mascara gets bad reviews. You buy a waterproof mascara to be waterproof. This stuff stands up to water like nobody's business!!! Feel free to shower, swim in the pool and splash in the sea.

This mascara isn't going to budge and it stayed nice and black all day without fading.

Is it hard to remove?
You bet it is. It's waterproof! It takes time and work to get it all off. I find if I don't get it all off, the thin film of mascara left on the lashes causes the mascara to clump on the next day's application. Soap and water is not enough to get this mascara off.

I like to use olive oil to remove waterproof mascara followed by a facial cleanser. I find oil breaks down the waxy waterproof ingredients really well. Coconut oil is another good oil to use for mascara removal. The Too Faced Mascara Melt Off Waterproof Mascara Dissolver works really great as well! Plus, it's convenient for traveling.

Does it smudge?
As for smudges, smears and running, I had zero.

Does it flake?
Nope. I had no flaking.

Is it sticky?
It's a little sticky for me before it's dry. When it's dry, I don't find it to be sticky. It's also sticky during the removal process.

Is it hard to apply?
I've worked with many mascaras. Some take patience to apply. People have said in their reviews that this mascara is difficult to apply and it clumps. Mascaras that are waxy can take longer to dry and stick lashes together easily. This is a waxy waterproof mascara. Use patience. Apply thin coats waiting a few minutes between coats. Pull the lashes straight from base to tips and don't wiggle the mascara wand to help prevent the lashes from sticking together. Use a lash comb or dry mascara spoolie to separate lashes that are stuck together while they are wet.

This mascara dried fine for me even in the tropical Jamaican air and it didn't irritate my eyes at all.

Does it lengthen?
It lengthened my lashes! Here are my lashes with two coats.

Do the lashes hold a curl?
My lashes stayed beautifully curled, better than with most mascaras. The wetter they got, the less curl they had, but still, some curl remained.

Lash Curling Tip: Waterproof mascaras hold lash curl better than regular mascaras because they contain less water.

The brush.

The brush has an hourglass shape, which seems to be a kind of popular shape right now, to give coverage, add volume and lengthen. The brush worked fine for me.

I think this mascara is a fantastic waterproof mascara!!! The removal process would get on my nerves for everyday use, though. I will use it for vacation and on brides for sure. Everyone is different and has different mascara preferences. You have to try it for yourself to see how it works for you. Keep my application and removal tips in mind when you do try it. Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara is available in a small 0.17 size which is super for travel!

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j

Dermatofibroma on Leg

A Dermatofibroma is an unsightly brown or red bump that is very common on the legs. They are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas and are more common in women than men. They can hurt, itch and become inflamed easily. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  I have tried lots of home remedies on my dermatofibroma. Some help it look better than others but the ugly thing is still there! Read more about dermatofibroma remedies. There is only one way to remove it for good...surgery. It must be surgically excised out. A dermatofibroma goes deep into the skin. It will only grow back if it is cut off of the skin at surface level. The problem with the removal is it leaves a long scar that is about 2 inches or so long. It has to be done that way to be able to sew the skin back together so it is smooth and not puckery. Here is a picture of a scar from the removal of a dermatofibroma. This scar was also treated with a laser to imp
