Which polish color makes you look younger?

Q. What nail polish colors can I wear to help make my hands look younger? A. Wearing the wrong nail polish color is unflattering and can actually make you hands look older. Help your hands look younger by wearing soft reds, coral reds, soft corals, medium pinks, warm mauves, nudes and pinky beiges in a soft shimmer or creamy finish. Choose a shade that flatters your skin tone. Cool toned skin colors are flattered by cooler toned polish. Warm toned skin colors look better with warmer colors. Avoid highly frosted colors such a frosted white. Not only is it old fashioned, it accentuates nail ridges. Avoid dark colors or shades of blue red, plum, blue or green that can accentuate the veins and redness in your hands.           Have a Beautiful Day!  xo Jill Licensed Cosmetologist,  Esthetician,  Makeup Artist PS: Thanks for using my amazon 💋 As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no cost to you. Polish Vases

Look at these adorable little vases!  They are made from empty nail polish bottles. How cool is that? I go through nail polish at the salon like crazy. This is a great way to upcycle empty nail polish bottles. Whatever nail old polish is left in the nail polish bottle can be poured out on newspaper or a paper towel, allowed to dry and then disposed of. Read how to dispose of old nail polish Pour some acetone into the bottle to remove the remnants of nail polish.  Now, the bottle are ready to turn into a cute little vase using spray paint and yarn, twine or embroidery thread.  I think the nail polish bottles that have peel off labels will come out the best. What does Moisturizer do

Q. What does a moisturizer actually do for the skin? A. A basic moisturizer is meant to put a protective film over the skin to prevent moisture loss and improve the look of the skin by hydrating it, but a moisturizer will also make the skin more flexible. Flexible skin will not get lines as easily when facial expressions are made. Moisturized skin also tends to be stronger than unmoisturized skin. Dry skin cracks easily. A moisturizer containing anti-aging ingredients, such as retinol or peptides, will encourage collagen and elastin production in your skin and will actually help the skin look younger with continuous use. The best time to apply a moisturizer is after the skin has been cleansed. Apply the moisturizer after skin has been patted dry and is slightly damp to seal in water. My knees are too dark and dry!

The summer sun can cause your knees to get too dark and dry!  This happen to me all the time! Help lighten them by using a pumice stone to gently slough away dead skin. If you are at the beach, apply a little oil to your knees, then massage them with sand. Rinse and apply SPF 50. You can try using an exfoliating lotion such as CeraVe SA Renewing Lotion to continue the exfoliation and to moisturize. Find CeraVe at drugstores including CVS and Walgreens. You can also try a skin lightening treatment at night. Skin lightening spot treatments helps to lighten dark areas of the skin. Look for products with natural lightening ingredients such as kakadu plum extract, azelaic acid, kojic acid and citrus unshiu peel extract.   Shop for skin lighten creams And always wear a high sunscreen of 50 SPF on the knees daily to keep the skin from getting dark again from sun exposure!           Have a Beautiful Day!  xo...

Gigi Pore Refining Wax

Gigi has caught on to a waxing trick my colleagues and I have done for years! We use wax to unclogged the pores.  Wax, the kind used for hair removal, is great for pulling out blackheads, especially from the nose and chin. Gigi created Pore Refining Facial Wax.  This wax has been discontinued and replace with Gigi Detox Charcoal Wax. Bridal Makeup at Hunting Hill Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park

The Hunting Hill Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park is an amazing setting for a wedding. Just imagine the unbelievable pictures you could have from this beautiful place! It is an historic location full of rustic charm and the Bride's room in the mansion is absolutely fabulous! The room is huge and has plenty of natural light.  Link to Hunting Hill Mansion  We did hair and makeup for the bride and her bridal party in that fabulous room. The morning was cloudy and drizzly. Our laid back bride was a little concerned because her ceremony was being held in the garden.  She wanted a romantic loosely curled updo which looked gorgeous with her red hair.   This bride doesn't usually wear makeup so she wanted a very natural look. She was having a bit of a breakout that she wanted covered.  I used a light concealer and an ivory foundation to even her skin tone and hide the breakout. Warm brown and peach eye shadow complemented her brown eyes and warm skin ...
