2015 Miss Universe Makeup and Hair

I had to watch it. I always do. The Miss Universe Pageant. I love the hair, the makeup and my very favorite, the evening gowns! The hair, for most of the women, was long with soft curls. The usual. Miss Jamaica, Kaci Fennell, was the exception to the rule with her super cute short do. The makeup, for most of the women, consisted of matte yet luminous skin, soft blush, bold eyebrows, neutral eye shadow, dark liner, long lashes and glossy, glossy lips, a pink nude or a peach nude. Beautiful. Not over done. Look at the little bit of glitter on Miss Ukraine's, Diana Harkusha, face. It makes me not feel so bad about getting a little glitter fallout on my own face:) The gowns were gorgeous! Lots of red and white .  Look at Miss USA's, Nia Sanchez, fabulous red dress! She is the last one on the right. I just loved the sexy back of Miss Jamaica's dress! The winner? Miss Columbia, Paulina Vega. A dark haired beauty. But, the audience clearly wanted

Dry, Brittle Nails that Snap Off: Eat these foods

Help! My nails are just snapping off! I went grocery shopping and came home with two broken nails. What's happening to my nails? Your nails are probably dry and brittle from the dry winter air. Outside the air is dry with low humidity and inside the air is dry with low humidity from the heater. This lack of humidity will cause the nails and skin to become dehydrated. You need to oil up! Use hand lotion and nail/cuticle oil on your nails several times a day to keep the nails moist and flexible. Oil creates a protective barrier against dry air. Too much water exposure is the enemy for nails. It will make the nails flatten when wet then curl when dry causing the nails to become brittle. Wear waterproof gloves to protect your nails (and hands too!) from exposure to water when cleaning or doing dishes. Wear warm winter gloves when you are outside. Biotin is a key vitamin for healthy nail formation. Eat more foods containing biotin to help your body make strong healthy nai

Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer

My skin has that dull winter look about it. So I headed to Sephora to pick up a bottle of Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer. I just love a luminizer to add life to the skin. It brightens, highlights and helps blur away flaws. You can use it alone as a highlighter and apply it to specific areas, such as the tops of your cheek bones, on your brow bones, on bridge of your nose and your cupid's bow, or add a drop to your foundation to give your face an all over glow. I use it both ways depending on my mood and the look I want to create. Here is what it looks like by it's self. A gorgeous shimmering golden bronze. It creates a beautiful golden glow with a little sparkle. There is less sparkle when it is mix with foundation. Many Josie Maran products contain Argan oil. It's a fabulous anti aging ingredient full of Vitamin E and fatty acids to beautify the skin. Note: Since I wrote this post, this product has been replaced with Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer.
