Anti Aging Skin Care for a body part you don't think of

There is a body part that most (if no all) of us seem to neglect in our beauty regimens. Can you guess what it is?  It's the ears & earlobes!!! I have heard that the ears continue to grow as we age. That seems to be true when you see old guys with those big, big ears! The ears don't really grow. It can seem like they grow but what is really happening is they are stretching. They stretch due to the breakdown of the elastin and collagen in cartilage that makes up the ears and that ever present pull of gravity.  The earlobes can get saggy just like the skin on any other part of our body. UV damage from the sun causes more elastin and collagen breakdown. So what's a girl to do to keep the ears from getting big and flappy? Add the ears to your anti aging skincare routine.  Serum Apply an anti aging serum to your earlobes as well as your face to help keep them firm and help prevent sagging.  Anti Aging Cream Use an anti aging face cream on  your earlobes

Styles of Bikini Waxing made Easy

The Hollywood, The Sphinx, The French, The Playboy. There are so many different names for the various styles of bikini waxing, it makes life confusing. I've been waxing people for more than 30 years and even I'm confused!  Let's make it simple shall we?  There are three basic types of bikini waxing. The Bikini Line Waxing, The Full Bikini Waxing and The Brazilian Waxing. All can vary a bit according to how much hair you want removed. Hair can be removed from the front section (the pubic bone area), the middle section (the labia area) and the back section (between the butt cheeks). The Bikini Line Wax Hair is removed from outside of the panty line and just inside the panty line, top and sides. You get a cleaned up triangle shape, Full Bikini Wax Hair is removed from the front and the middle far inside the panty line. It's high on the sides. You can have a landing strip. This can be a French bikini wax which means most of the hair is removed from the front le

Unibrow Removal for Children

Over the years, I have had clients ask me "what's the best way to remove my child's unibrow. She will be starting school and I don't want other kids to make fun of her". Other kids can be mean!  Little ones have sensitive skin and are afraid of hair removal so unibrow removal is a sticky situation. Speaking of sticky...haha...waxing is my #1 unibrow removal choice for adults. But a kid may not go for waxing.  Keep in mind, waxing and tweezing weaken hair over time making hair finer and less noticeable.  Let's explore the Unibrow Hair Removal Options for Kids. Waxing Waxing the center of the brows is quick and easy. It will last about 3-4 weeks. A child's sensitive skin may get very red after waxing but the redness should fade within an hour.  There is also a chance of a rashy breakout on sensitive skin. The sensation of waxing is like a bandaid being pulled off, a sensation that kids hate so it may not be the best option for a very sensitive chil

Bridal Makeup Trends Classics

The classic makeup look for brides is fresh, clean and rosy pink. Think Rose Quartz. It has been one of the Pantone colors of the year.  Focus is on the eyes with a soft lip and rosy cheeks. Skin Skin looks bright and fresh. Foundation should provide natural looking coverage and look just a little dewy not shiny. Eyes Eyes can be simple and shimmery or winged and smoky slept in for brides this year. Shades of nude and brown eye shadows remain popular. There is a lot of emphasis on lashes. Black mascara and falsies create long fluttery lashes. Brows The strong brow is still the trend. Brows are thick, well shaped and filled in with brow pencil or brow powder. Cheeks Blush colors are soft shades of rose and coral. Cheeks can also have a stained blush look. Contouring is subtle to avoid a muddy look.  Highlighting with a shimmer luminizer also is subtle to avoid a shininess. Lips Lips are soft glossy shades pink. berry and coral. Lip stain is also popular. Visit my

Valentine's Day Decor and Lipstick

I always like decorating for Valentine's Day with it's hearts and flowers. I think pink, rose, white, silver and of course, red. Red roses are the go to flower for the day of love, but many other flowers such as lilies and carnations in shades of pink create a lovely romantic bouquet.  Decorating on a budget always works for me. My husband calls me a pack rat, but I use my saved things in creative ways. A saved the heart box from Valentine's chocolates makes a striking decoration hung on the wall of my fireplace. The flower pots that hold my silk mini roses are inexpensive clay pots purchased at AC Moore and spray painted silver. Using the sparkly mosaic red vase and red candle lantern for Christmas and then Valentine's Day make decorating easy. I just change out the flowers. A collection of pale pink things looks bright against the stone fireplace wall.  I really like how striking a mono chromatic theme looks.  Speaking of pale pink, pale pink also w
