Esqido Gel Eyeliner Pencil Review: Waterproof Eyeliner

I love a good eyeliner, don't you? I recently tried out the Esqido Gel Eyeliner Pencil. Esqido tells me that the benefits of this eyeliner pencil are that it is highly pigmented, it is long lasting with all day wear, it is water resistant/waterproof, and is smudge resistant.  I was excited to test this liner out because a good waterproof eyeliner is something I like to use for my brides and their wedding parties on wedding day. I tested this liner out for a week to really get a feel for it. It comes in black and brown. The black is very dark. The brown is a nice rich brown. The brown actually works great on my dark brown eyebrows, too. This product is cruelty free, of course, or I wouldn't be trying it! A gel eyeliner pencil tends to have a softer feel than a regular pencil eyeliner when it is applied. It also should create a smooth line with ease. The Packaging  This pencil is a plastic twist up pencil. I like the packaging of this liner. It is has many features ...

Blue Makeup: Blue Eye Shadow, Blue Eye Liner, Blue Lipstick and Blue Nail Polish Recommendations

Blue is one of my favorite colors. The shades of indigo, royal blue, prussian blue, cerulean, sky blue and turquoise are particularly pleasing to me. You can imagine how ecstatic I am about the trending blue eye shadow.  It's not that old fashioned, intense blue the goes from the lash line to the brows that Mimi used to wear on the Drew Carey Show. It's now a soft mix of well blended shades of blue and other colors including gold, silver, white, black and peach. If you missed it, here is a pic of Katy Perry's blue shadow on an episode of American Idol. Gorgeous!!!💙 Now, her shadow is quite dramatic, not necessarily a style you would choose to wear for work or even for a night out. It's makeup for television and it's intense and amazing under the lights. It certainly can be modified to be more wearable in everyday life. I use blue eye shadow quite frequently for prom and wedding makeup. It's nice to accent the eyes with a little blue when wearing a...

Types of Eyeliner & Eyeliner Application Tips

Eyeliner comes in a variety of forms each providing it's own unique look. Some are easier to work with than others. Let me go over the various type of eyeliner and give you some pointers on how to apply them. Types of Eyeliner & How to Use Them Pencil Liner: Let's start with pencil liner.  It is easy to work with and comes in a pencil form that can be sharpened or in an automatic pencil form that twists up as needed. I like the old fashioned pencil the can be sharpened to a nice point.  Use that nice sharp pencil and apply the line in your lashes and just above. Smudge the line with a liner brush or pointed Q-tip for a natural look.  Use it on the top and bottom lash lines.  A kohl pencil is softer and smudges easier that a classic pencil. Here is an interesting tidbit about eye and lip liner pencils. Pencil liners that are made in Germany are known to be high quality products. There are two factories in Germany that manufacturer liner pencils for dr...

Easy Smoky Eye Shadow

Everyone talks about dark sexy smoky eye shadow, but so many people tell me they can't get it to look right. They look like they have black eyes. An easy way to get the smoky look is to keep the darkness on the eyelid not in the crease or above the crease.  Use 2 colors on the lid to create a more dimensional less heavy look. Keep the brow bone clean looking with a neutral creamy colored shadow or foundation.  This will give you a nice smoky look without looking too black. How to do an Easy Smoky Eye Here is what you will need: a black eye liner pencil a neutral cream color shadow a charcoal or black shadow a medium gray shadow a light gray shadow black mascara Here are 7 easy steps : Step 1 Apply  neutral cream colored shadow to the brow bone. Step 2 Apply light gray shadow to the inner half of your eyelid. Step 3 Apply medium gray shadow to the outer half of your eyelid. Step 4 Use an eye shadow brush to blend the colo...
