Vampire Makeup for Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner so I decided I should play around with some
makeup. Our theme at the salon is community service workers which is a bit boring for me.

Last year, we were bag ladies. I loved it!!! I even made my own paper mache pigeons!

This year for community service workers, I decided I'll wear my nurse costume and make it more fun by being a night nurse vampire style, Ivana Bytyu. 

Most people do vampire eyes very black but I think mysterious smoky purple eyes will do.

 Pale skin, purple smoky eyes, purple blush and red lips will work. 

How to do Purple Smoky Vampire Makeup

I started by using a foundation a few shades lighter than my skin color and mixed in a light Youngblood CC Perfecting Primer in Bare in plus a bit of luminizer to create a reflective surface. 

Urban Decay lip liner in Manic with Gash lipstick makes nice vampire red lips.

I used Urban Decay eye shadows for my eyes. Freakshow, asphyxia, roadstripe, oil slick, polyester bride and my favorite black matte, blackout.

Freakshow doubled as contouring/blush and roadstripe worked great as a highlighter on my cheekbones. Asphyxia and roadstripe have an awesome iridescence. They create a great ghoulish look for a vampire!

Some of these Urban Decay colors may be hard to find. The Urban Decay Ultra Violet palette is a good option. Here is an Amazon affiliate link to find some great UD Shadows.


I think my eyebrows need more drama, though. I'll really fill them in for Halloween. 

Some fangs are also in order. The Halloween store will have them. I'm almost ready. 

 Vampire Fang tip: the adhesive that comes with the fangs from the Halloween store doesn't work. My friend Michelle bought some denture adhesive to hold her fangs on. It worked great!

Dermatofibroma on Leg

A Dermatofibroma is an unsightly brown or red bump that is very common on the legs. They are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas and are more common in women than men. They can hurt, itch and become inflamed easily. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  I have tried lots of home remedies on my dermatofibroma.
