Pantone Color of the Year 2019: Living Coral, Coral Youngblood Makeup and Coral Nail Polish Colors

I'm excited about Pantone's color choice for 2019! It's one of those colors that looks great on just about everyone. I took this pic a few years ago at an amazing beach house I stayed at in Sea Isle City, NJ. It's almost the perfect representation of the Pantone Color of the year for 2019. I say almost because, this Coral isn't living.

Pantone 16-1546 Living Coral

Coral is a optimistic, bright and happy color. It represents a positive attitude that we desperately need in the USA right now! Coral has always been a favorite nail polish and makeup color at the salon. My clients will be thrilled to know it's the color of the year! I think it's the perfect color trend for clothing, makeup and home decorating for the new year.

Coral Decorating Ideas

Last year's Pantone Color of the Year, Ultra Violet, had a strong influence on the nail polish industry. There were many beautiful shades of purple nail colors from muted to bright from multiple nail polish brands for every season throughout 2018.

Coral can be on the orange side or on the pink side or on the red side which makes it a versatile color that looks great on so many skin tones.

We have recently gotten Youngblood cosmetics at the salon. Youngblood cosmetics are mineral cosmetics made from minerals, plant extracts and oils. They are vegan products that are beautiful and gentle for all skin types. Youngblood has many lipsticks, glosses and blushes lovely flattering peachy tones. Soft coral and peach tones tend to have an amazing anti aging effect. They add fresh clean color that complements many skin tones creating a more youthful appearance.

For your Lips
The Youngblood lipstick in Dragon Fruit provides a sheer wash of coral color with moisturizing sunflower oil. A bit of lip gloss in Coral Kiss on top of the Dragon Fruit lipstick adds shine and a gentle shimmer with no sticky feeling.

For your Cheeks
I adore The Youngblood Mineral Radiance powder in Splendor! It's four colors in one compact.

It adds peachy coral color with a soft radiant shimmer to your cheeks. Use it as blush, bronzer and highlighter or use your blush brush to swirl all the colors together for a glowy dimensional blend of cheek color. You can also use the Mineral Radiance on your eyes for a soft sweep of color to create a cohesive monochromatic makeup look.

For both Lips and Cheeks
If you like simplicity, Smashbox has the perfect product to give your lips and cheeks the perfect Living Coral look. It's the Smashbox LA Lights Lipstick and Cheek Color in Laurel Canyon Coral. It has buildable color so you can choose how intense to want your color to be whether is a subtle sheen or a more intense flush.
For your Nails
Zoya has a bunch of fabulous colors to coral up your nails! There are red corals, orange corals and pink corals so you can easily find the perfect coral for you and be right on trend.

Yana, Maya Dixie, Kylie and Virginia are a few great coral choices to get the Living Coral look. I am particularly fond of Virginia. It's on the pinky coral side which looks great with my medium beige skin tone. Visit zoya.com.

warm eye shadow colors
Coral eye shadow may not look the best on everyone. It can be too bold and look a bit avant garde. Stick with warm pink, peachy, gold, tan and warm brown shadows to coordinate with your coral lips, cheeks and nails. The Morphe Pro 35 Eyeshadow Palette Warm 35W has a nice selection of warm eye shadow colors. The Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eye Shadow Palette is another nice eye shadow palette option with peachy shades.
I'm excited about the Living Coral color trend. I hope this post has given you some makeup color ideas you can use now and into the new year.  Beauty products always make great gifts. Now you know the trendy color to buy!

You can find Zoya products at salons, spas, zoya.com and on Amazon.  We carry Zoya nail polish at Styling Point in Media, Pa. Come see me to get your nails party ready with a beautiful Zoya nail polish color.

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j

Dermatofibroma on Leg

A Dermatofibroma is an unsightly brown or red bump that is very common on the legs. They are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas and are more common in women than men. They can hurt, itch and become inflamed easily. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  I have tried lots of home remedies on my dermatofibroma. Some help it look better than others but the ugly thing is still there! Read more about dermatofibroma remedies. There is only one way to remove it for good...surgery. It must be surgically excised out. A dermatofibroma goes deep into the skin. It will only grow back if it is cut off of the skin at surface level. The problem with the removal is it leaves a long scar that is about 2 inches or so long. It has to be done that way to be able to sew the skin back together so it is smooth and not puckery. Here is a picture of a scar from the removal of a dermatofibroma. This scar was also treated with a laser to imp
