holiday makeup look
It's time to sparkle and shine for that New Year's party, romantic dinner, or to just look fun and festive now or any time of year! I want to show you some of my favorite makeup items to add a little glamour and glitz to yourself.

I have lots of favorite brands. All cruelty free of course! Today I will show you some things from Laura Geller, Too Faced and Zoya.

Let's start with the Laura Geller's Baked Gelato Swirl Iluminator in Gilded Honey.

This remains one of my favorite things year after year. It can be used as an eye shadow or as a highlighter on the cheeks or on the cupid's bow for a gentle gold shimmer. I use this product all the time not just holiday time. It looks especially amazing in the summertime!

I used it on my eyelids and cheekbones for my holiday look.

I also love Laura Geller's Baked Blush n Brighten in Pink Grapefruit. This is a great color. It is a multi colored powdered blush in peach and pink shades with a soft shimmer that create a fabulous glow on my cheeks. I sometimes dust it on my eyelids as well.

I adore the colors in the Too Faced Razzle Dazzle Berry Eye Shadow Palette and it smells yummy too! I find that this shadow goes on smooth and stays bright and beautiful all through the day.

pink gold eyeshadow look
For my pink gold eye shadow look, I started by applying Dazzle to my entire eye area, the lid, the crease and the brow.

I applied the Laura Geller Guilded Honey to the inner corners of my eyelids.

Next, I applied Razzle to the outer half of the eyelids. I love the silky texture of this particular color.

Pink Suede went in the outer half of the crease and was blended inwards.

I love the deep blue Bad to the Berry! I used it as a smoky liner and to accent the outer corners of my eyelids.

too faced better than sex waterproof mascara
Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara is the best waterproof mascara! Not only does it make your lashes look great, it won't budge or smudge all day long, at all.  It's really my favorite mascara. It stays beautifully all day and helps keep my lashes curled.

It is a bugger to remove though, so only wear it when want to take the time to tackle the removal process.

Another tip I have is to buy the small travel size. It cost less and it's great to have the smaller size for a mascara you are not going to use everyday.

This is a mascara I love to use on my brides and wear on beachy vacations because it's so waterproof and smudge proof. Good stuff!

Zoya matte velvet red lipstick
For my lips I used my all time favorite holiday time red, Zoya Matte Red Velvet. It's matte finish is soft, sort of satiny. The color is a bluey red that is just perfect for me.

I find some mattes too matte, almost dry and chalky, which can look really great on younger people but not so great on us older people!  We need a matte that has a bit of a satin finish like this Zoya red.

zoya hot lips glossy balm
If you want a glossier finish, Zoya's Hot Lips Glossy Balm in Starlet adds some nice shimmery gloss over the Matte Velvet Red. The combination looks gorgeous! I am wearing both the Matte Velvet Red Lipstick and the Hot Lips gloss in my full face makeup look at the top of this post.

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j

Dermatofibroma on Leg

A Dermatofibroma is an unsightly brown or red bump that is very common on the legs. They are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas and are more common in women than men. They can hurt, itch and become inflamed easily. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  I have tried lots of home remedies on my dermatofibroma. Some help it look better than others but the ugly thing is still there! Read more about dermatofibroma remedies. There is only one way to remove it for good...surgery. It must be surgically excised out. A dermatofibroma goes deep into the skin. It will only grow back if it is cut off of the skin at surface level. The problem with the removal is it leaves a long scar that is about 2 inches or so long. It has to be done that way to be able to sew the skin back together so it is smooth and not puckery. Here is a picture of a scar from the removal of a dermatofibroma. This scar was also treated with a laser to imp
